Challenge

In hospitality, the guest experience begins long before the food arrives. Each restaurant needed an environment that reflected its identity, connected with its target audience, and created a memorable experience that extended beyond the menu.

Approach

I approached each project through the lens of brand strategy, using art, photography, typography, and historical references to create environments that felt authentic to the concept and its audience.

For APT 4B, an Afro-Caribbean restaurant and vinyl bar in Atlanta, I incorporated my reimagined Jet Magazine artwork featuring influential musicians to evoke nostalgia and celebrate Black music, culture, and design. The visual language reinforced the restaurant’s identity while creating an atmosphere that resonated with its culturally engaged clientele.

For MCK, an upscale tapas restaurant, I sourced refined vintage photography that reflected the sophistication of the dining experience. Every visual element was selected to elevate the ambiance and complement the restaurant’s modern aesthetic.

At Coffee, Creams & Dreams, I curated imagery of notable dreamers, artists, entrepreneurs, and cultural icons holding coffee mugs, creating a playful but meaningful connection between the ritual of coffee and the pursuit of ambition. The artwork encouraged guests to see themselves reflected in the stories on the walls.

For Down North Pizza in Philadelphia, I developed an installation featuring iconic Philadelphians, grounding the space in local history and community pride while reinforcing the restaurant’s deep connection to the city it serves.

Impact

Each project demonstrates how thoughtful visual storytelling can transform a restaurant into a branded experience—one where interiors become an extension of the company’s mission, values, and customer experience. By aligning artwork with audience, culture, and place, these spaces became destinations that people remembered long after their meal.
